I want to know the latest yearly figures for motorists exceeding the 20mph limit in South Wales

South Wales Police: Is it the number of NIPs (Notices of Intended Prosecution) issued you are asking for? Could you specify a date range please? The figures we can provide will just be SWP figures.

RESPONSE

We have consulted with our Central Ticket Office who have provided the below response in regards to speeding offences detected by safety camera.

From 1^st January 2025 to 31^st December 2025, there were 48,728 Notices of Intended Prosecution issued for exceeding the 20mph speed limit in the South Wales Police area.

We have also consulted with our Crime and Criminal Justice Department who have provided the below number of speeding offences recorded that were witnessed by a police officer.

From 1^st January 2025 to 31^st December 2025, there were 223 speeding offences for exceeding the 20mph speed limit recorded in the South Wales Police area.
