We conducted a search on our crime and incident recording system (NICHE RMS) for all occurrences recorded under Home Office code 008/74: Breach of stalking order / interim stalking order between 01/01/2020 to 31/12/2025 where South Wales is the owning agency.

South Wales Police is committed to obtaining Stalking Prevention Orders (SPOs), recognising them as an integral part of our efforts to enhance safety and security for victims of stalking and harassment. SWP has created a dedicated Preventative Order Officer post.
Knowing the importance of robust measures in preventing and addressing stalking incidents, SWP has taken steps to increase the number of orders secured. One significant step in this direction has been the recruitment of a dedicated Stalking and Harassment Coordinator, who brings a wealth of experience and expertise in this field.
In addition, Operation Amddiffyn was undertaken in South Wales Police.
Operation Amddiffyn is a vulnerability related training input that has been provided to all officers and staff in South Wales Police who work in public facing roles since 2024. Coercive and Controlling behaviour was one of six key themes covered, to raise awareness with our staff and enhance our response to these offences.
We have strong partnerships that provide a robust multi-agency approach to public protection. We remain focussed on ensuring that we maintain our force mission of keeping South Wales safe.
