Please provide the number of police officers in your force who were recorded as having been treated for smoke inhalation.
Please include treatment recorded in any of the following contexts, if held:
- treatment by ambulance or paramedics
- treatment at hospital
- treatment by police occupational health, force medical staff, or first aiders
- treatment recorded after operational deployment, public order incidents, fires, house entries, protests, or similar incidents
If possible, please break the figures down by financial year.
If your records distinguish between police officers and police staff/PCSOs, please provide police officer figures only. If this is not possible within the cost limit, please provide the total figure for all police personnel and state what categories are included.
RESPONSE
We consulted with our HR (Human Resources) Department who have provided the following information in relation to your request.
Three officers were identified as having been exposed to smoke inhalation across this 5 year time period with only one receiving treatment. The officer was treated and detained in hospital for less than 24 hours.
