REQUEST & RESPONSE
I am writing under the Freedom of Information act to request data you have recorded on conduct investigations into police perpetrated domestic abuse (PPDA) led by your police force, from 1 January 2021 to 31 April 2025.
Specifically, I request the following information. Please send the response in an Excel spreadsheet.
1) PPDA CONDUCT CASES. The number of conduct cases instigated against police officers, and the number of individual officers they relate to, involving domestic abuse from 1 January 2021 to 31 April 2025
If your force does not have a specific flag used on Centurion to identify domestic abuse cases, please apply the methodology that you would usually use to identify and report on such cases, for example by searching for key words within the allegation summary field.
Please describe the methodology used. If your methodology is manual and time consuming to the extent that responding to the question would exceed time constraints, please limit your response to a reasonable time frame by starting with a later year, and describe the dates covered.
Please break down the number of cases by year and specify the number of individuals involved as well as the total number of cases:

**Please note, there are officers who have faced multiple allegations of PPDA across 2021 – 2025. For example, an officer had allegations made against them in 2022, 2023 and 2024 and these allegations are recorded in each year they’re received.
Therefore, the number of conduct cases will appear higher than the number of officers as some officers will have more than one allegation against them.
We have supplied the number of PPDA conduct cases and the number of officers as this question has asked for both.
2) PPDA CONDUCT OFFICER RANK. For the individuals identified above, please specify the rank of the police officer

South Wales Police is committed to investigating all allegations of misconduct and robustly pursue allegations of wrongdoing, including corruption. It should be noted that the vast majority of staff work extremely hard to ‘Keep South Wales Safe’ but on occasions, the actions of a few tarnish the professional reputation of the organisation. South Wales Police provide extensive training and advice to police officers and police staff around issues of dishonesty, unethical behaviour and corruption and have an integrity hotline, which allows the confidential reporting of wrongdoing. South Wales Police will continue to develop a culture in which reporting wrongdoing and corruption is viewed as doing the right thing and will continue take a proactive and positive lead on all such matter.
