How much a police call out calls. What is the cost of one and/or two police officers attending a call?

South Wales Police: Are you looking for the hourly rate for a Police Officer/PCSO? Could you clarify what costs you are looking for?

Applicant: I am looking to find out the hourly rate of a Police Officer and a PCSO to begin with. I also wanted to ask whether there is a charge to the police to deploy a police car/van etc?

South Wales Police: Please could you confirm if you are asking for the hourly rate an officer is paid (which would exclude on-costs) or the hourly cost to the Force to deploy an officer?

RESPONSE

We have consulted with our Finance Department who have provided us with the below information to answer your request.

The average hourly rate (which excludes on-costs) of a PC (Police Constable) is £17.55 and £14.39 for a PCSO (Police Community Support Officer).

The NPCC (National Police Chiefs’ Council) full economic cost recovery rate for a PC is £88.09 and £43.92 for a PCSO.

South Wales Police does not record the charge per vehicle for deployments and therefore does not hold the information to answer this part of your request.
