Please provide the police force's current operational guidance or internal training materials on handling reports of economic abuse as defined in Section 1(3)(d) of the Domestic Abuse Act 2021.
RESPONSE
We consulted with our safeguarding & public protection department who have provided the below response to your request.
Economic abuse is discussed in the College of Policing Domestic Abuse Matters First Responder Training and it is also included in the first scenario presented in the College of Policing Domestic Abuse Matters Investigators Training.
The Investigators Training is a two-day Hydra Immersive Learning experience where, of the three scenarios presented over the two days, two have financial / economic abuse elements for officers to investigate and to request further assistance/enquiries to be undertaken by a Financial Investigator.
