REQUEST

1. The number of drivers who were offered a speed awareness course for exceeding the 20mph speed limit in your force area, broken down by year for the past three years (or as far back as records allow).
2. The exact recorded speeds (anonymised) of those individuals who were offered the speed awareness course in relation to speeding offences in 20mph zones. I am not requesting any personal data, only the individual speeds recorded.

RESPONSE

We consulted with our CTO (Central Ticket Office) who have provided the below response to your request.

Please note the below table provides a response to both questions one and two, the data refers to educational course offers that were issued upon receipt of an admission of driving as a result of an alleged speeding offence. All offences were detected in a 20mph speed limit by safety camera in the South Wales Police Force area during the calendar years, 2022, 2023 and 2024.
