REQUEST

I am writing under the freedom of information act 2000 to request the following information:

1. How much of your constabulary's budget was spent on procuring restraints, tasers, and incapacitant chemicals from January 2020 to December 2024.
   • Could I possibly receive these figures broken down by type of equipment and by year, please.
2. How much of your constabulary's budget was spend on training to use each of these types of equipment from January 2020 to December 2024.
   • Could I please receive this information broken down by training for each type of equipment, and by year.

Question 1

We have consulted with our Procurement Department who have provided the below response.

Please see the below table that provides the cost of the equipment broken down by type and by year:

Please be advised, the above data is only held in financial year rather than calendar year.

Please also note that our Procurement Department does not hold details of spend on restraints and therefore, this data is unavailable.

Question 2

We have consulted with our Finance and Learning and Development Department who have provided the below response.

Please see the below table that provides the spend on training to use each type of equipment broken down by type and by year:

*includes ammunition costs for training and external training of trainers

** includes costs of materials

Please be advised, the figures in question 2 do not include the internal training costs of officers. Trainers are multi-skilled and do not only train in one discipline.
