SWP (South Wales Police) is committed to protecting the public from sexual and violent offenders. We have strong partnerships that provide a robust multi-agency approach to public protection. We remain focussed on ensuring that we maintain our force mission of keeping South Wales Safe.
Operation Amddiffyn is a vulnerability related training input that was provided to all officers and staff who work in public facing roles in South Wales Police during 2024. Coercive and Controlling behaviour is one of six key themes covered, to raise awareness with our staff and enhance our response to these offences
Additionally, SWP has created a dedicated preventative order officer post, to further enhance the ability to increase the number of orders secured. The importance of this issue is underlined by SWP commitment to dedicated resource in order to improve. There are currently eight stalking prevention order applications in progress in South Wales Police since appointing these dedicated resources.
