REQUEST
- How much the force has spent on kennelling banned breeds or the XL Bully since the ban came
- Please provide a monthly breakdown of the costs since February 2024 up to and including February 2025.
- How much more has the force spent on staffing the dog section of the force since the ban came in, and how many staff did this budget pay for.
- Has the force received more funding for kennels/staffing the XL Bully Ban, or has this been redirected from other areas of policing.
RESPONSE
We consulted with our Finance department and our Specialist Operations department who have provided the below response to your request.
Question 1
The forces kennelling costs are not broken down by type of offence for banned breed dogs. Therefore, we do not hold the information to answer this part of your request.
Question 2
The forces costs are not broken down by spend of the staffing within our dog section since the ban. Therefore, we do not hold the information to answer this part of your request.
We can confirm the Force spent £22,637 on officer overtime on a specific XL Bully operation however this figure is for all officer overtime and not specifically the dog section.
Question 3
No further funding has been received.
