The purpose of the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion team (EDI) is to shine a light on the practices and procedures within South Wales Police through the lens of equality and inclusion, ensuring that we maintain an inclusive culture and a diverse workforce who are able to effectively meet the needs of the diverse community that we serve.
09:00 – Log in and check emails, take action on any urgent requests.
09:30 – Review organisational equality data to identify any changes, trends or disparities. Carry out project work.
11:00 – Attend partnership working meetings with Basic Command Unit (BCU) Leads, Human Resources (HR) and Positive Action (PA) departments. Supervisors to push forward EDI agenda/initiatives in each police department and in the community.
12:30 – Lunch
13:00 – Research changes in legislation relating to protected characteristics
14:00 – Attend EDI team meeting. Share business updates and best practice
15:00 – Visit staff departments to build rapport and observe practices and procedures. Make recommendations for improvements and take away examples of good practice.
17:00 – End of day
