South Wales Police Heritage Centre
Covid Alert closure of Heritage Centre
A statement from the Heritage Centre in light of the current Covid-19 situation.
In accordance with Government advice the South Wales Police Heritage Centre is closed until further notice.
We continue to monitor the situation and updates will be posted on the website and social media as they happen.
We thank you for your patience in these difficult times.
The South Wales Police Heritage Centre brings the history of policing in South Wales back to life. From the Celtic age to present day, we tell the fascinating stories of South Wales’ officers through the decades.
Explore the kit of a Victorian constable; discover the tough duties of Glamorgan officers in World War I, and uncover some of the weapons used against police.
Our galleries contain a range of artefacts, including police equipment and uniform from years gone by, such as handcuffs, radios and the decorated dress uniforms of 19th century chief constables.
There is also a charge room to book people into custody at our museum, as well as a cell for any law-breaking guests!
And you can take this virtual, interactive and 360-degree tour of the Heritage Centre.
