The force has trained champions in place to provide advice and support to employees in a wealth of wellbeing matters including mental health, pregnancy and menopause.
Our Chaplaincy Service enables officers and staff to have a person to talk to and act as a critical friend. Their role is to be involved in the provision of basic support and a ‘listening ear’.

The National Police Healthcare Scheme is a not-for-profit Trust, overseen by Trustees who are all serving Police Officers.
Their core purpose is to provide the entire Police Family with swift access to the best medical treatment available – at not-for-profit rates.
Their members include Police Officers, Student Officers, Police Staff, and their families, as well as Special Constables and members of police-related organisations, including the National Crime Agency (NCA), College of Policing, NPCC, and staff of police charities.
The Private Medical Intervention (PMI) scheme provides assistance to officers and staff who are awaiting NHS medical treatment but who are subject to long waiting lists. The Force will consider assistance towards the cost of appropriate/necessary intervention.

WHA is a not-for-profit company which offers a range of low-cost healthcare cash plan schemes to help its customers with the everyday costs of staying healthy.
There are four personal cash plan scheme subscription rates starting from as little as £7.00 a month for cover for yourself only. There are also four partners’ scheme rates starting at £14.00 per month which would cover you and your spouse/partner.
HSF Health Plan covers everyday health costs like dental and optical bills and a lot more besides. The plan allows you to agree to pay a set amount per week or month through your employer and, in return, you and your family can access the 24/7 telephone GP Advice Line, Virtual Doctor, Counselling, Legal Advice, Personal Accident cover and HSF Perkbox (a discounts service offering you money off tech, shopping bills and days out).
