Man charged following incident in Amroth Road, Caerau

A man has been charged following an incident in Amroth Road, Caerau, Cardiff, on Tuesday night.
South Wales Police was called to a report of a collision involving a pedestrian and an e-bike just after 8.30pm.
The pedestrian was an on-duty police officer.
Jake Fernandes, 25, from Caerau, has been charged with driving a Sur-Ron electric off-road bike dangerously, driving without insurance, driving without a licence, possession with intent to supply cannabis and cultivation of cannabis.
He is due to appear at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court this morning (Thursday, August 13).
South Wales Police is committed to tackling community concerns about the illegal and anti-social use of e-bikes and e-scooters in Cardiff.
Regular operations are taking place.
More than 800 illegal mechanically propelled vehicles (MPVs) have been seized since August 2025 as a result of joint work with Cardiff Council.
