South Wales Police can confirm that a 31-year-old woman from Barry had died at the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, following an incident in Langham Way, Leckwith, Cardiff.
Next of kin has been informed.
A post-mortem examination is due to take place, and further enquiries are ongoing to establish the cause and circumstances of her death.
Police were called to a property in Langham Way, Leckwith, at around 7.40pm on Saturday, August 1.
Two women were taken to hospital following reports they had been assaulted and one man was arrested.
One of the women has since died in hospital and a second woman has been discharged.
Daniel McCarthy, 40, from Leckwith, has been charged with two counts of assault and failing to stop a vehicle when required to do so by police.
He was due to appear at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court today (Wednesday, August 5).
An investigation is on-going.
