Talbot Green speeding operation results

The local neighbourhood policing team in Talbot Green has teamed up with roads policing officers, the Road Safety and Commercial Vehicle Unit and the Driving & Vehicle Standards Agency to tackle speeding and anti-social driving.
Operation Buena took place on Friday 21 April, and resulted in over 30 vehicles being pulled over by the team. A further 17 drivers are also being dealt with using a postal Notice of Impending Prosecution.
Officers focused their attention on the A4119 – a known hot spot for reports of speeding vehicles and inconsiderate driving and they pulled vehicles over to where DVSA officers were ready to carry out inspections.
A range of offences were identified from excess speed and load offences to illegal and dangerous vehicle modifications.
Of the vehicles stopped:
- 2 drivers were given immediate prohibition notices for their vehicles dangerous condition meaning they cannot drive them until the problems have been fixed
- 4 drivers were given delayed prohibition notices for defects, meaning they must take their vehicle for an immediate MOT
- 8 verbal warnings were issued for minor offences
- 5 Traffic Offence Reports were issued
- 2 Drivers were reported for summons
- 1 commercial vehicle operator was reported for operator licence offences
Local Policing Inspector Leigh Parfitt said:
“The DVSA have been fantastic as have our roads policing colleagues.
“Neighbourhood officers have been listening to the local community and with their help they are taking action. I hope that those who have been affected by these issues are reassured by that.
"These individuals are driving vehicles which are unsafe, putting themselves and other motorists at risk. Operations such as Op Buena allow us to engage with the public in a way that promoted road safety and discouraged antisocial use of vehicles.”
