Police in Cardiff are appealing for witnesses to a robbery in North Road, Gabalfa, which happened yesterday (Tuesday, August 8).
At around 5.15am, a report was received of a cash delivery vehicle being attacked near to Tesco Express by people on a motorbike.
The driver of van was assaulted and a cash box containing a significant amount of money was stolen.
It is believed there are three suspects and the motorbike involved is described as orange and black.
Detective Sergeant Phil Marchant, from South Wales Police, said: “The victim is understandably shaken up by this incident and has injured his back because of the robbery. He was just trying to do his job when he was set upon by these cowards.
“The suspects who are described as white males, were all wearing bandanas or neck warmers to cover their faces and were carrying black backpacks.
“Several items have been recovered for forensic examination and we are checking CCTV cameras in the area. We are doing all we can to identify those responsible and would appeal for anyone with information to please contact South Wales Police.”
The suspects sped off down the lane behind the Texaco petrol station in the general direction of Maindy Swimming Pool.
