Gareth Llewellyn, 40, his brother Lee Llewellyn, 42, and their partners have been jailed for a total of over 13 years after being convicted of drug offences.

Gareth Llewellyn appeared in court in April while Lee Llewellyn and their partners appeared at Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court on Tuesday (29 November), after officers discovered they were involved in drugs back in July 2020 and carried out a warrant to bring them to justice.

Officers acting on intelligence forced entry to a property on Bute Street, #Aberdare, which contained two flats occupied by the Llewellyn brothers, both from Aberdare, along with their partners Sian Jones, 42, from Waun Wen, Swansea, and Hayley Lloyd, 36, from Aberdare.

During the search, officers located a quantity of heroin prepared for street deals, cash and a number of mobile phones. The four were arrested, charged and were remanded into custody until their court date.

All were convicted of conspiracy to supply heroin:
• Gareth Llewellyn, 40, from Aberdare, was sentenced to 5 years and seven months
• Lee Llewellyn, 42, from Aberdare, was sentenced to two years and four months
• Hayley Lloyd, 36, from Aberdare, was sentenced to four years
• Sian Jones, 42, from Waun Wen, Swansea, was sentenced to 22 months, suspended for two years

Following the sentence, Detective Inspector Ian Jones said police would continue to target those supplying drugs across Rhondda, Merthyr and Bridgend.
He said:

“The four suspects were so brazen in their drug supply that they were conducting their business a short distance from Aberdare Police Station believing they would not be caught.
“Drug dealers prey upon some of the most vulnerable people in society and have no thought for anyone but themselves.
“The sentence sends a strong message to other potential offenders that we, along with our partner forces, are continuing our efforts to proactively target suspects and keep our communities safe.”
