South Wales Police invited the public to visit their headquarters as they hosted a Family Fun Day on Sunday 17th July 2022.
Throughout the day several attractions and activities took place for all ages. These included meeting the wellbeing dogs, tours of the new Police Learning Centre and the Heritage centre to learn more about the history of policing.
There was also an opportunity to take part in a fitness test, an essential part of the police officer recruitment process.
Engagement stalls were hosted by several SWP networks, partner agencies and various departments. These included South Wales Fire and Rescue Service, Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service, Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team and St John Ambulance.
A big thank you to all who attended over the weekend, and for the wonderful feedback, such as the below, that we've received.
"Can I just say a massive thank you to all the staff at Bridgend Police Headquarters for the most fantastic fun day today.
“My daughter wants to join and the officers and support staff we spoke to today were amazing and so helpful. What a wonderful force you all are, all seem to look out for one another.
“I hope my daughter does join such a wonderful place with wonderful people. Thank you all.”
If you took part in the fitness test on the day and are interested in applying to become a Police Officer, vacancies are open until Monday, 25th July. You can apply here.
