Neighbourhood policing is at the heart of our approach to keeping South Wales safe. Your local team is made up of dedicated officers and PCSOs based in the area, who have the community’s best interests at heart and who are both visible and accessible.
We work closely with residents, community leaders, your local council and other partners to understand and respond to community concerns. By working together and focusing on early intervention, prevention and problem solving, we can find long-term solutions to local issues.
As well as the information on this page, you can find out more about crime and policing activity in your community, as well as contact details for your local team, via South Wales Listens.
South Wales Listens also gives you the opportunity to tell your local neighbourhood policing team about the issues that matter most to you, as well as take part in surveys to enable us to better understand concerns in your community.
We will also let you know about local engagement events, crime prevention advice, and occasionally about significant policing activity in your area.

Drug Dealing
Issued 15 December 2025
Police have been made aware of areas where persons are frequenting to sell / purchase controlled drugs. We are acting on this information and continue to patrol public spaces where persons are said to frequent for such activities. We have previously had hedges cut back in the lane linked to ISLWYN ROAD due to similar reports and conducted frequent patrols which previously resulted in an arrest. In regards to residential premises where suspected drug dealing takes place, we frequently liaise with our partners in housing to look to share intelligence and take action where possible. We also encourage the reporting of issues around drug dealing to the local neighbourhood policing team so they have an accurate picture of the situation locally and can utilise intelligence to take action.

A problem-solving plan has been put in place to address the issues at Mayhill Park. We have identified issues with youths who frequent the park as well as youths outside the near Mayhill Medial Centre. Patrols have been increased in the area and a number of anti-social behaviour referrals have been issued to those who have been involved in inappropriate behaviour. Graffiti has been removed to not encourage further incidents and we will continue to both patrol the area, work with our partners and update residents of the actions being taken on South Wales Listens.

We work with our internal partners in Road policing and operational support, we have had a number of operations using drones and fixed wing aircraft. We work with our external partners especially those in the local authority to problem solve in partnership. We also use social media/KINS and councillors to encourage the community to report information and intelligence to provide an accurate situation locally and can utilise intelligence to take robust action and enforcement.
