Hare Coursing, rural & wildlife crime

This is an ongoing issue which will more than likely see an increase in the winter months and darker nights.
Operation Galileo is an initiative which has been set up to tackle incidents of Hare Coursing also known as Lamping.
Regular patrols are carried out in areas affected by these issues.
Officers are In the process of distributing signage to local farms, Community councillors in areas affected by the issues.
The Vale Council has introduced a wildlife crime officer who is linking in with local farmers and patrolling the area.

Road Safety and Speeding (monitoring speeding and working with existing Community Speed Watch Volunteers) – (Corntown and Ewenny) - Speed scoping – Promotion of Community Speed Watch in villages who highlight speeding, Ogmore-By-Sea, Wick and St. Brides Major. Liaision with Go Safe and local community councils whilst attending meetings and providing crime figures each month).
Continued awareness with local community councils of Lamping and Hare Coursing whilst attending meetings or supplying crime figures ( emphasis on importance of reporting incidents) – Ewenny CC, St. Brides Major CC and Wick CC.
