Notice of Police Misconduct Hearing

South Wales Police will hold a Police Misconduct Hearing under the provisions of the Police (Conduct) Regulations 2020, commencing at 10:00 am on Wednesday 25 November 2026 at The Waterton Centre, Bridgend CF31 3WT.

The Hearing will be heard by an independent panel chaired by Mr Ian Arundale, who will sit with two Independent members.

The Police Officer who is the subject of the proceedings, has made an application for the Hearing be held in private and that reporting restrictions are put in place.

Mr Arundale has ordered that a Notice of Hearing be published and invites representations from any Interested Party who may wish to oppose the Officer’s application for a private hearing and a reporting restrictions order.

The officer concerned faces allegations that he has breached the below Standards of Professional behaviour, arising from providing untruthful information in the vetting process, unauthorised access to South Wales Police computer systems and failing to disclose a conflict of interest in a criminal trial.

Standard 7- Confidentiality
Standard 9- Discreditable Conduct

If any Interested Party or representative of the Media wishes to make representations under Regulation 36 (3) and /or 36 (5) of The Police (Conduct) Regulations 2020 to oppose the officer’s application, such representations should be in writing and addressed to the Chair and sent to South Wales Police Press Office by no later than 30 September 2026.

The Chair will make a final determination having fully considered any representations made.
