South Wales Police will hold an Accelerated Misconduct Hearing at 1pm on Tuesday, October 13 at Police HQ in Bridgend, to be chaired by Chief Constable Jeremy Vaughan.
The officer subject of this hearing is Police Sergeant 6016 Andrew Smurthwaite who is accused of breaching the following standard of professional behaviour:
Standard 9 - Discreditable Conduct:
“Police Officers will behave in a manner, which does not discredit the police service or undermine confidence in it, whether on or off duty. Police officers report any action taken against them for a criminal offence, any conditions imposed on them by a court or receipt of any penalty notice”.
The allegation relates to the officer being arrested and convicted of Criminal Offences relating to – Unlawful Possession of ammunition and Criminal Damage.
