REQUEST
Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, please provide the total cost incurred by South Wales Police for policing pro-Palestine protests, demonstrations, public assemblies, and processions between 7 October 2023 and the date of this response.
Specifically, please provide:
1. The total financial expenditure recorded by your force for policing these events (including any dedicated operation codes set up for this purpose).
2. A breakdown of these costs into:
a) Overtime costs
b) Mutual aid costs (both aid provided to other forces and aid received from other forces, if applicable)
c) Other direct / non-pay costs (e.g., equipment, transport, catering, logistics)
d) Core / opportunity costs (standard officer duty time, if recorded separately)
3. A breakdown of these costs by financial year:
- 2023/24 (from 7 Oct 2023)
- 2024/25
- 2025/26 to date
If the requested information is already held in a centralized financial report or briefing paper, disclosure of that document/table will fully satisfy this request. If any single part of this request is deemed to exceed the statutory cost limit (Section 12), please prioritize Question 1 and Question 2(a) (total expenditure and overtime).
