REQUEST

The number of incidents reported to South Wales Police involving a dog that is dangerously out of control in each year from 1994. There should be subtotals for each year, preferably calendar years (starts January, finishes December).

CLARIFICATION - If you can only provide yearly totals from 2007 onwards, that would be satisfactory

RESPONSE

We conducted a search on our crime and incident recording system (NICHE RMS) for the following Home Office codes within the requested time frame.

• 111/18/N- Dangerous dog in public place
• 8N/8/32- Owner or person in charge allowing dog be dangerously out of control in public place.

Please note, the 2025 results were searched between 01/01/2025-27/02/2025.
