REQUEST

 

I would like to know the following please under the Freedom of Information Act. How many arrests were made by your police force for the offence of hare coursing (the offence of trespassing with intent to pursue hares) over the last five years?

 

If you could send the data for each year, please. So:

  • Jan 2020 - Dec 2020
  • Jan 2021 - Dec 2021
  • Jan 2022 - Dec 2022
  • Jan 2023 - Dec 2023
  • Jan 2024 - Dec 2024

 

RESPONSE

 

A search has been completed using our crime and incident reporting system (NICHE RMS) for all occurrences recorded between the dates specified using one of the following Home Office Codes:

 

  • 118/01/4/N/NIGHT TRESPASSER WIT/NP28010: Night trespasser with poaching equipment
  • 119/01/2/N/DAY POACHING BY 5 OR: Day poaching by 5 or more
  • 119/01/5/N/DAY POACHING: Day poaching
  • 119/01/N/DAY POACHING BY 4 OR: Day poaching by 4 or less
  • 195/99/21N/POACHING - ASSAULT B: Poaching - assault by night
  • 195/99/23N/POACHING - THREE OR : Poaching - three or more armed at night

 

There were no arrests for the specified time frames.
