REQUEST
I am emailing to make an FOI request regarding incomplete, out-of-date, or missing information regarding those on the Violent and Sex Offender Register who are required to keep police up to date on their workplaces/homes.
Specifically, I am looking to find out:
RESPONSE
We consulted with our Safeguarding and Public Protection unit who have advised the following regarding your request.
Question 1
There are 2718 Visor nominals within the South Wales Police area as of 09/05/2025
Question 2
There are 2710 registered sex offenders within the South Wales Police area as of 09/05/2025
Question 3 and 4
South Wales Police do not hold the information regarding this part of your request. Registered sex offenders are required to notify a change of address, but they do not have to legally provide employment information. It is not possible to say if information is out of date or missing as all information is recorded by staff as it is notified or becomes identified via meetings, home visitation and intelligence.
Under section 16- our duty to advise and assist, a search was conducted of Visor nominals who do not have any records in relation to employment. This search retrieved 962 results as of 09/05/25.
South Wales Police is committed to protecting the public from sexual and violent offenders. We have strong partnerships that provide a robust multi agency approach to public protection. We remain focussed on ensuring that we maintain our force mission of keeping South Wales Safe.
