REQUEST

Please could you provide a list of all police forces or other services to which the South Wales Police (SWP) currently delivers driver training. For each of these forces/services, kindly specify the types of driver training courses provided, including any instructor-level courses where applicable.

RESPONSE

We consulted with our Learning & development unit who have provided the following information regarding your request.

The Driver Training Unit of South Wales Police will conduct periodic training during 2025/26 when capacity is available to the below:-

1. Metropolitan Police – Standard Response Courses
2. Ministry of Defence - Standard Response Courses
3. Ministry of Defence – Evasive & Offensive driving courses
4. Military (SFSG) - Standard Response Courses
5. HMPPS – Cat A protected convoy (Cat A Prisoner escort)
6. HMPPS – Cat A protected convoy Refresher (Cat A Prisoner escort)
