REQUEST

I would like to request details of when the police have investigated allegations relating to ketamine in schools.

Please can you give me figures and reports for each of the academic years (September 1 to July 31) for 2033/2023, 2023/2024 and as much of 2024/25 as possible. 

For each year:

1. How many times has the force investigated an allegation relating to ketamine in a school?

2. Please provide a summary of the MO section of the incident report with any personal data redacted.

3. Please provide the age and sex of a child said to have been in possession of Ketamine.

4. Please specify the age and sex of a child accused of selling Ketamine.

5. Please specify how many children have been hospitalised due to suspected Ketamine abuse? In each case, please provide their age and sex.

6. How many children died after taking ketamine?

7. How many were arrested? Please provide the age and sex in each case and what they were arrested on suspicion of?

8. How many were charged? What was their age and sex and what were they charged with?

RESPONSE

A search was conducted on our crime and incident reporting system (NICHE RMS) for recorded crime where the secondary address description was recorded as ‘education’ and the tertiary address recorded as ‘Preparatory / First / Primary / Infant / Junior / Middle School ‘ and  ‘Secondary/High School’ for the following HO (Home office) codes:

• 093/60: Ketamine: Production of or being concerned in the production of a Class B controlled drug
• 093/66: Ketamine: Supplying or offering to supply a class B controlled drug (or being concerned in)
• 093/78: Ketamine: Having possession of a class B controlled drug with intent to supply
• 093/84: Ketamine: (Class B): Permitting premises to be used for unlawful purposes
• 093/72: Ketamine: Having possession of a class B controlled drug

• 092/25: Production or being concerned in production of a controlled drug - Class B - Other
• 092/45: Supplying or offering to supply a controlled drug - Class B - Other
• 092/65: Having possession of a controlled drug - Class B - Other
• 092/85: Possession of a controlled drug with intent to supply - Class B - Other
• 093/25: Permitting premises to be used for unlawful purposes - Class B - Other

For the time frames specified there were three recorded crimes. Upon interrogation of the occurrences, it was found that they were not relevant to your request.
