Request

1. List of buildings owned by gwent police, this namely being "Neighbourhood Policing" bases/offices/posts and main stations. Please include the "area" or "command unit" it belongs to.

I.E: Main Street Police Station, North Command.

2. Please can you tell me the official names you use for what is commonly known as:

- Response

- Neighbourhood Policing

- Traffic

- Firearms

- Dogs.

An example of this, is that for "response officers" each force has different names for it such as Response & Patrol, Intervention & Response, Initial Response, Response Team, Incident Crime Response, Emergency Response Policing Team

or another example

Tactical Firearms Unit, Armed Response Unit, Specialist Firearms Command for example.

3. Please can you inform me if your force utalises "area cars". This is commonly known as a higher-preformance car that is driven by a advanced driver on a response team working as a response vehicle.

Please find attached document entitled ‘Response data 950_25’ which is a list of our OWNED bases/offices for our Neighbourhood Policing Teams arranged in BCU (Basic Command Unit) location.

Question 2

We consulted with our Public Service Centre who have provided the below response to your request.

- Response – Patrol officer

- Neighbourhood Policing – Neighbourhood Police Officer / Police Community Support Officer

- Traffic – Roads Policing Officer

- Firearms – Authorised Firearms Officer

- Dogs. – Canine Unit

We consulted with our Driver Training Unit who have provided the below response to your request:

No, we do not utilise ‘AREA CARS’ in South Wales Police.

We have BCU vehicles (Response) and RPU vehicles (Advanced).
