REQUEST
Please could you provide a list of the annual number of in-school knife-related incidents that police from your force have attended, for the last three years (2022, 2023, 2024), as well as a year-so-far number for 2025?
RESPONSE
As this is available in the public domain, we are therefore not obliged to provide this information as the following exemption applies:
Section 21 – Information Accessible by Other Means.
This is an absolute, class-based exemption which means that a public authority is not required to consider the public interest in disclosure.
Under Section 16, the duty to provide advice and assistance, please see the below link to a similar response issued on our publication scheme:

The above response covers the years 2019-2024 only therefore, we conducted the same search for 2025 (01/01/25-20/03/25) and can confirm there were 7 results for this time frame.
Please be advised, this search has been conducted under the crime date and not by the reported date. This means that any results brought back will relate to occurrences that were recorded as a crime between 1st January 2025 and 20th March 2025 and not when the occurrences were first reported. Therefore, results retrieved may contain incidents that were reported before 1st January 2025.
The results retrieved are dependent on how the information has been entered onto the system. As such, the information provided should not be considered statistically accurate and/or definitive and therefore care should be taken when using this data for any further statistical, analytical or evaluative purposes.
