Yes, please could I have statistics on the number of police officers who are dedicated rural crime officers
RESPONSE
We consulted with our Wildlife & Rural Crime Tactical Lead’ who have advised the following regarding your request.
South Wales Police do not have a dedicated wildlife crime team however, there is a supervisory police officer coordinator, 6 police officers and 11 PCSO’s who have responsibility for wildlife crime amongst their other duties.
Please note, as these are voluntary roles, the figures fluctuate depending on who wants to be involved.
The above figures cover 2019-2024.
