A man from Swansea has been sentenced after deliberately crashing his vehicle into another man, leaving his victim with a fractured skull and a bleed on the brain.
18-year-old Mitchel Jones, from Morriston, also left the victim with a fractured left forearm after running him over, which required surgery.
He then drove away following the incident.
After pleading guilty to dangerous driving and grievous bodily harm with intent he has been sentenced to three years and four months in a young offender institution.
He has been banned from driving for three years and three months.
Detective Inspector Stuart Prendiville said:
“Mitchel Jones is clearly a hot-headed young man who has thrown some of the best years of his life away with his disgraceful actions.
“He showed no remorse for what he had done, or for the lasting damage which he has done to the victim. He drove off without even a slight consideration for the victim’s wellbeing.
“He will now spend a considerable time off the streets – but that will be of scant consolation to the victim and his family.”
