A Cardiff drug dealer has been jailed after he was caught in the act by officers on patrol.
Ibrahim Mustafa was arrested by police patrolling Grangetown in an unmarked police car, who witnessed a suspected drug deal in a black Seat Altea car in Paget Street.
As they approached the car, officers noticed Mustafa, 32, reach for something and conceal it down his trousers.
Latex gloves, cash, and mobile phones which contained text messages relating to the purchase of drugs, were seized.
An X-ray at the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, confirmed a foreign object, suspected of being drugs, in Mustafa’s body.
He was arrested on October 5 last year and charged with being concerned in the supply of cocaine.
Mustafa, from Butetown, later pleaded guilty and on March 20, at Cardiff Crown Court, he was sentenced to two years and 10 months in prison.
South Wales Police has a zero-tolerance approach to drug dealing and this is just one examples of the work we are doing.
We will not tolerate drugs in our communities, and we are constantly targeting those are thought to be involved in the supply of controlled drugs.
