Specialist search teams are continuing the search for missing woman Charlene Hobbs.
They will be searching a number of areas across South Wales and into neighbouring police force areas to help find Charlene, who has not been seen for nearly six months. The locations being searched are based on information that has developed during the investigation.
Officers have been conducting extensive enquiries including searches of numerous addresses, derelict premises, vehicles, and open land areas across south Wales.
They have also appealed to people living in the Splott and Roath areas of Cardiff to help with these searches by checking their outbuildings and empty properties where Charlene may have taken shelter.
Detective Chief Inspector Matt Powell, from South Wales Police, said:
“As part of this ongoing investigation, specialist search teams are out looking Charlene and for any clues as to where she may be, or where she has been during these last six months. We continue to engage with the local community, speaking to those we identify as possibly having information regarding Charlene’s whereabouts; and by delivering leaflets to addresses in key locations.
“There remain several possible explanations for Charlene’s disappearance, and I am maintaining an open mind as we do all we can to establish what has happened to her. I do believe that answers as to where Charlene is lie in the community and that members of the public can assist us returning Charlene to her family. Any information no matter how insignificant someone may feel it is may considerably add to this investigation, and information can also be provided anonymously.
“Charlene is a mother, a sister, a daughter, and a friend to many. Like us, they are all extremely concerned for her welfare and are desperate for answers.”
The last confirmed sighting of Charlene is on mobile phone photograph taken at a property in Broadway, Adamsdown, at 06:07am on July 24, 2024. The day before, July 23, 2024, Charlene was seen on CCTV in Morrisons Local, Adamsdown
Her hair was in a bun, and she was wearing a dark strapless top, with a distinctive dragon tattoo visible on her back.
