Officers were called just after 9.15pm on Friday, April 18, with a report of concern for the welfare of two people in a property on Bryn Terrace, Cefn Cribwr.
Officers attended and found a 48-year-old woman who was confirmed dead at the scene.
A 56-year-old man from Pyle was found inside the property and detained by officers. He has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
Detective Chief Inspector Lianne Rees said:
“We are continuing to carry out inquiries into the death, which is being treated as suspicious, however at this stage we are not looking for anyone else in connection to the incident.
"Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of the woman who has died.”
