Police in Cardiff are investigating a serious sexual assault which happened in Splott Park in the early hours of this morning (Sunday September 22).
Police were called at around 3.25am after the victim, a 44-year-old woman, had alerted a member of the public.
Detective Inspector Kath Barry said:
“The victim is being supported by specialist police officers and enquiries are ongoing to ascertain the full circumstances of the incident.
“A scene is in place and a number of officers will be seen in area as our investigations continue.
“If you were in the vicinity of Splott Park between the hours of 2.00am and 4.00am this morning and saw anyone in the area, or if you have any other information that could assist our investigation, please contact us quoting reference number 2400316906.”
