Following several reports of youths gathering and acting in an anti-social manner in Ystradfechan Park, Treorchy, last Friday (May 17), officers have been provided with additional powers under S34 ASBCP Act 2014 to disperse people in the area shown on this map between 3pm on Friday, May 24, and 7am on Sunday, May 26.
Inspector Matthew Jacob said:
“I encourage all parents and guardians to speak to children ahead of this evening to ensure that they are not involved in any anti-social behaviour and to take care of themselves throughout the weekend.
“I understand that following stresses of exams and the start of the half term break that people want to celebrate. However, I ask that you do so in a manner which does not negatively impact on your community.
“We have put in place additional measures to deal with any ASB over the course of this weekend and anyone engaging in this will be dealt with robustly.”
