A man has been charged with the murder of Colin Richards, in Ely, Cardiff.
Corey Gauci, 18, from Cardiff, is remanded in custody and will appear at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court tomorrow morning (Tuesday, April 30).
A second man, aged 26, also from Cardiff, who was arrested on suspicion of murder has been released on bail for this matter but recalled to prison for breaching his licence conditions.
Colin Richards’ family has been updated and continue to be supported by specially trained family liaison officers. Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Mr Richards.
South Wales Police would like to thank West Midlands Police, Warwickshire Police, and Staffordshire Police for their assistance and the public for its support during this on-going investigation.
Mr Richards, 48, was found unconscious in Snowdon Road, Ely, following a report of a disturbance in the Heol-Y-Berllan and Heol Trelai area of Caerau shortly before 11.30pm on Sunday, April 7.
