South Wales Police is investigating a road traffic collision which happened on Cardiff Road, Mountain Ash, at around 4.50pm yesterday (Saturday 17 June).
A bus was in collision with a motorcycle and, despite the best efforts of emergency services, the motorcyclist, a 48-year-old man from Mountain Ash, was declared deceased at the scene.
Inspector Dai Patalano said:
“The road was closed for several hours following the incident and the public is thanks for its patience during this time.
“The driver of the bus, a 51-year-old man, was arrested in connection with the offence. He has been released under investigation.
“Officers investigating the collision are appealing to any witness who has yet to come forward or anyone who has any dash-cam footage of the collision to contact us quoting 2300199828.”
