Two people have been sentenced to a total of four years in prison for causing or allowing a child to suffer physical harm.
Sion Davies, 27, from Townhill, was sentenced to two-and-a-half years in prison whilst Tegan Dolphin, 22, from Mayhill, was sentenced to one-and-a-half years.
In April 2020, a five-week-old baby was admitted to Morriston Hospital where a skeletal scan revealed a catalogue of non-accidental injuries including 13 fractures to their ribs and three fractures to their legs.
Detective Constable Eleanor Dallas said:
"This is a heart-breaking case that has touched all of us who have worked on bringing Sion Davies and Tegan Dolphin before the court.
"Children depend on adults and the child in this case was sorely betrayed by them both in the cruellest of ways.
“I hope that this sentence is a clear message that children matter and those who think they can get away with inflicting such injuries will be punished.”
