Officers in Cae Fardre have been given extra powers to deal with persons causing anti-social behaviour this weekend.
The decision has been made following a number of anti-social behaviour incidents on the estate over the recent weeks which caused concern among residents.
The dispersal order, which is granted under the Anti-Social Behaviour Crime and Policing Act 2014, will apply to those aged 16 years and over and will be in place for 48 hours from 6pm on Friday, November 4, to 6pm on Sunday, November 6. It will cover the area as shown on the map.
Police officers and PCSOs will be able to instruct anybody who is causing, or is likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress to leave the area. They will also have the power to seize any property which officers suspect is being used to cause ASB.
Local Policing Inspector Leigh Parfitt said:
“We will be conducting high-visibility patrols in the community to reassure the public and deal with any issues.
“I want to resolve these ongoing issues and ensure that residents of Cae Fardre remain and feel safe.

Officers in Rhydyfelin have been given extra powers to deal with youths causing anti-social behaviour this weekend.
The decision has been made following the anti-social behaviour incidents in the area on Halloween which caused concern among residents.
The dispersal order, which is granted under the Anti-Social Behaviour Crime and Policing Act 2014, will apply to those aged 10 years and over and will be in place for 48 hours from 6pm on Friday, November 4, to 6pm on Sunday, November 6. It will cover the area as shown on the map.
Anyone aged 10-16 years of age subject to this legislation will be removed to their home address or to a place of safety. Police Officers and PCSOs will also have the power to seize any property which officers suspect is being used to cause ASB.

“As a result of the incidents where children were throwing eggs and fireworks on Halloween in Rhydyfelin, my Neighbourhood Policing Team and additional resources will be conducting high visibility patrols in the community to reassure the public and deal with any issues to ensure that residents remain and feel safe.”

“The behaviour of certain individuals in Ferndale over the Halloween weekend was unacceptable and will not be tolerated. Large gangs proceeded to throw eggs at cars and fireworks at people and vehicles.
“This weekend, the team will have additional resources and will be conducting high visibility patrols in the community to reassure the public and deal with any issues to ensure that residents remain and feel safe.”
