A South Wales Police operation has been tackling concerns about crime and anti-social behaviour in Tudor Street, Riverside, Cardiff.
Over a three-week period, there have been high-visibility daytime patrols in the area and plain clothes patrols every evening from 6pm to 2am
The aims of the operation were to disrupt illegal activity, refer vulnerable people to partner agencies, and establish long-term interventions.
Some of the results are as follows:
Inspector Stuart McDean, from South Wales Police, said: “Robustly tackling concerns about crime and anti-social behaviour in Tudor Street, particularly in Litchfield Court, will remain a priority for local officers and regular patrols both in uniform and plain-clothes will continue.
“We understand that such unacceptable behaviour can prove intimidating and unpleasant for residents.
“We continue to work with Cardiff Council and other agencies to find longer-term solutions to tackle anti-social behaviour and criminal activity.
“As always we would be very keen to hear from residents who can provide information on those responsible for crime and anti-social behaviour.”
During the operation, two retail premises were visited with from Shared Regulatory Services and nearly 400 packets of illegal tobacco worth approximately £6,500 was seized.
