A man has been charged with a serious assault in St Mellons, Cardiff.
Shortly before 11.20pm on Friday 16 December, police were called to reports of a man being assaulted at the Melrose Inn.
Daniel Liam Holdham, 33, from Rumney, has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm and was due to appear at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court on Monday, December 19.
Detective Chief Inspector Andy Miles, from South Wales Police, said: “While this is a significant development in our investigation, we are still very much appealing for information.
“In particular we would like to speak to anyone who was in the Melrose Inn on the evening of Friday, December 16.”
A 29-year-old man remains in hospital in a critical condition.
A second man, aged 32, arrested in connection with the incident is on police bail pending further enquires.
