The man who died following a road traffic collision which happened on Cemetery Road, Trecynon at approximately 2.45pm on Monday, July 25, has been named as David Jones, 75, from Trecynon.
David Jones’ family has paid tribute to him following their sudden and tragic loss:
“David Jones was a devoted family man and leaves behind his two sons, David and James and his two brothers, Colin and Robert.
“David was close with his brothers and spent many a holiday with them.
“He lived in the Trecynon area for over 50 years and was well known in the community and had a large circle of friends.
“He has been described as a caring and loving person who would do anything for anyone.
“He was quick witted and had a biting sense of humour. He would say it as it was and made everyone laugh who met him and had a heart of gold.
“He was loved by everyone that he met, he was loyal, supportive, friendly and generous.
“He will be forever in our hearts and sadly missed. There are no words to describe the loss our family is currently feeling and dealing with.”
The family has asked that their privacy be respected at this difficult time.
South Wales Police Roads Policing Unit is appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward - they are also asking people who were driving in the area to check their dashcams for footage which may assist.
