GoSafe Stand Up For Slowing Down as the 20mph Campaign Kicks Off

Today sees the start of GoSafe's Wales wide 20mph Campaign outside Primary Schools across the country. The 20mph speed limit outside the majority of Primary Schools in Wales is there to keep children and parents safe as they walk to and from school.

Walking to school is a healthy and environmentally friendly alternative to driving to school, and is an increasingly popular method of travel for parents and their children on their daily journeys to and from school.

“Our 20mph Campaign outside Primary Schools across Wales has one key aim; which is to encourage compliance with the speed limit to keep children and parents safe as they walk to and from school.

We hope to see the majority of road users comply with the speed limit as they play their part in keeping these vulnerable road users safe to enable more families to walk or cycle safely and confidently to and from school.

If you see our enforcement vans outside your local Primary School over the next week, know that we are there to make journeys to and from school safer.”

Speeding is a major contributing factor in collisions on Welsh roads and can lead to serious injuries. By complying with the 20mph speed limit outside Primary Schools, you will be reducing the risk of serious harm to our most vulnerable road users.
