South Wales Police Cardiff

Around £150k cash and large quantities of drugs has been seized as part of an operation led by Tarian, the regional organised crime unit for southern Wales. With the assistance of colleagues from Merseyside Police, officers executed a number of pre-planned warrants in the Cardiff, Merthyr Tydfil and Merseyside areas early this morning. Seven men have been arrested, all on suspicion of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs, and are currently in custody. The warrants were executed as part of Operation Vermont, which has already seen seven people charged with the offence, following a series of raids last week. ... MoreLess

Again?? What's wrong with people these days? Llanedeyrn (and not just this area in cardiff) has gone to the dogs, knife crime is on the rise. Life long residents have left the estate due to the effects of knife crime and it seems to be on the up, and as for the 17yr olds injuries being non life threatening well the fact that he was stabbed was life threatening in itself, he was just very fortunate, but will the next and the next after that? Lock them up and go down hard on them, people who dont send their kids to school get heftier punishment for god sake 😡

It’s time carrying a knife carries a minimum of a 4 year sentence and those doing it serve every day of it. You hear it more and more happening in London, but never expect to hear it in your own back yard. Police and justice system really need to own up to their failings and start prosecuting and sending a message, carrying a knife is illegal and doing so you will end up in prison!

How much would it take to get 1000 officer's back into the Welsh force, im happy to pay more in taxes if it can stop this crap happening on our streets god help my daughters and my granddaughter generation, im scared for them, it's about hard sentences are brought in, life in solitary cells should be one

Quite shocking how this area is going. First my son got beat up and had his bike nicked and now a stabbing. Makes me afraid to let him out....not that he will go out anyway as he’s not left the house since it happened other than to go to school. Pentwyn and Llanedeyrn are going downhill 😔

Are there any updates on this, as a resident of Ael-y-Bryn we have heard nothing and given the serious nature of this crime, concern for our children’s safety as well as our own only grows, definitely do not feel safe with no more information forthcoming.

My friend had a robbery at her shop and so did the shop nearby who have provided her with CCTV of the culprit, but the Police are not the least bit interested, even though she could have been attacked. Disgusting..

Cant believe Llanedeyrn is like this now. I was brought up in Llanedeyrn and it was never like this. You could play out with your friends and not have to worry about anything. You could leave your door open and nobody would even attempt to break in. I cant believe it's gone like this. It's not just Llanedeyrn its everywhere and it's quite sad. I got my boys bikes for xmas and I'm afraid for them to out on them just in case they get hurt by thugs trying to pinch there bikes it is sad.

Please be reassured that tackling knife crime is a priority for South Wales Police : Heddlu De Cymru. CLEARLY NOT A PRIORITY FOR THE CPS THOUGH!

Saturday police was up there because of the gangs out side there smashing bottles everywhere around there again place have gone to the dogs

These group of chavs have been roaming around that area for weeks intimidating and threatening behaviour towards dog walkers for weeks but allowed to continue to hang around the shops

Couldn't even clean up the blood 🤦‍♂️

Llanedeyrn is a no-go area. 💁🏽‍♂️😏🙄

Suzanne Crawshaw Is this the gang that approached you?! 😳

Assault?? Call it what it is.. an attempt to kill. You dont stab someone to assault them. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ the police have been warned about that part of the area for months nothing was put in place now this has happened.

It's all very well and good arresting these people for caring knives but then the courts give them a slap on the wrist and let then ott again. Its about time there's a minimum sentence for being caught with a knife

Flood the area with armed officers and use stop and search powers...zero tolerance on all crime no matter what to give these street rats a message.
