The Firearms & Explosives Licensing Department is located at Police Headquarters, Bridgend.

The department’s main function is to administer the Firearms Acts 1968-1997 (as amended) and the Control of Explosives Regulations 1991. The department is concerned with public safety in relation to the private ownership of firearms, shot guns and explosives.

The department is open for telephone enquiries from Monday to Thursday from 8.30 pm – 5.00pm & Friday from 8.30am – 4.30pm
