Corporate Communications

South Wales Police’s Corporate Communications department is responsible for the force’s external and internal communications.

This ranges from press releases; specialist media-handling; marketing communications; producing multi-media packages, podcasts and photography; internet and intranet management; internal staff media training; the internal magazine; the force open day; the internal awards ceremony; and the Police Museum.

The department is split into six teams, namely the Press Team, Marketing Team, Internal Communications Team, Web Team, Media Production Team and Museum.

In addition to this, there is a divisional Press and Public Relations Officer based in Cardiff; Swansea; Rhondda Cynon Taff and Merthyr Tydfil; Bridgend and Vale of Glamorgan; and Neath Port Talbot.

The Reactive Press Team and Divisional Press and Public Relations Officers also provide a 24-hour 365-day on-call media-handling facility for emergency out-of-hours critical incidents and major crimes.
