Our Chief Officers
Peter Vaughan became a Vice Chair of the National Police Chiefs Council in April 2015, having served as Vice President and the last President (Acting) of ACPO.
Peter is the Chief Constable of South Wales Police, a force he joined in 1984.
Matt joined the police service in 1995 and became Deputy Chief Constable of South Wales Police in August 2013.
Nikki joined South Wales Police in June 2014 as Assistant Chief Constable with responsibility for specialist crime which includes the Joint Scientific Investigation Unit, Tarian / Regional Organised Crime Unit and Wales Extremist Counter Terrorist Unit.
Richard became Assistant Chief Constable of Territorial Policing in January 2014, and is responsible for our four Basic Command Units and Information Systems and Management.
Jon joined South Wales Police in June 2014 as Assistant Chief Constable with responsibility for Specialist Operations, Professional Standards Department, and Justice and Partnerships.
Umar became Chief Financial Officer for South Wales Police in August 2007.
Mark became the Director of Human Resources for both South Wales Police and Gwent Police in January 2011.
